Such a Time as This

"External beauty without the depth of a kind soul is merely decoration."
When working as an assistant on a shoot, I came across this beautiful lake that looked like something out of a fairy tale. As soon as I got home I told my flat mate (Mareike) about this stunning place, and we decided that we could not, not shoot there. Thus the planning and preparation for our shoot began.
An early morning shoot is never easy, especially in winter, in Bloemfontein. We got up at 6am (which may not seem that early, but for 2 second year OT students in the middle of exams, it's quite a sacrifice).
On our way to Woodlands, we picked up our co-photographer and model for the day, Simoné and Elizma, who will be featured later on the blog.
Once we arrived, the sun was up and it was still 4 degrees outside. I could hardly feel my fingers, and was just barely able to press the shutter down.
Despite the early morning and temperatures below freezing (well, at least it felt like it), this is a day that I will always cherish. These are some of my all time favourite shots, because they were shared with people who warm my heart.
I hope you love these as much as I do.
